Yury Petrovich AzarovHabilitated Doctor in Pedagogics, professor, vice-rector for research, head of Interschool laboratory of transcendental pedagogics”

He was born in 1931 and has become a well-known author, scientist, academician and painter. Having graduated from the university in 1952 he was a teacher in the Far North where in 1930s his father and relatives had been exiled. His novels “Solenga” and “Pechora” published in the 1980s cover the subject. "All my life, prose, pedagogical works, paintings, - said he in an interview, - represent my violent and uncompromising struggle with authoritarianism in education, state administration and society”. Besides works on pedagogical matters that became bestsellers ("Family pedagogics”, "The art of educator", "Pedagogics of love and freedom", "One hundred mysteries of a child’s development”, etc.), he has written ten novels five of which have been published with the total print of over four million copies. He has created thousands of paintings on historic and Biblical subjects, portraits, landscapes, illustrations to Dostoyevsky novels and works of his own.
Works by Yu.P. Azarov have been translated and received a considerable critical acclaim in the USA, Canada, China, Japan, India, European and CIS countries.
His programme work "Family pedagogics" has been mentioned in various foreign publications: "This is the best books I’ve read on the educational matters" (Gars, John - "Daily World", New-York, 1984); "If you are looking for a different book on child’s education you have found it" (Thomas P., Newsletter, London, 1984); "The book on family education by Yury Azarov is a guide for parents" (Ruma, Malik, "Clarity", Bombay, 1984).
On the novel "The suspect" (М.: Vagrius, 2002), All-Russian Education Fund review said: "The novel by Yury Azarov – an outstanding educator, writer and painter is a remarkable event in the socio-political life of Russia... The charged plot hides not only a criminal story but a deep reflection on the reasons of total criminalization of out society... The author tolls an alarm bell... The novel can do good not only to parents and educators, but to Russian politicians as well, helping them to understand better what is going on around them". In the State Department of Russian Government they compared the novel with the Tchernyshevsky’s "What to do?”
The last work by Yu. Azarov "Guidance in talent development" is accompanied with the following acclaim: "The book is written by an outstanding contemporary educator, the author of books and research works well-known in this country and abroad". In many publications it is said that "Yury Azarov, a widely known educator and scientists whose books have long become a custom reference in families and at schools..." (Literary Gazette, Yury Rost and Gennady Zhavoronkov). "In Yury Azarov’s works not only are methods of accelerated talent development revealed but ways are shown to exit spiritual and social and economic crisis" (Alexander Savelyev, member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences), "Books by Azarov are deep psychological prose" (Lev Anninsky, critic).
Ten latest books by the author are devoted to problematic issues of transcendental pedagogics. In the University, Yu.P. Azarov is in charge of the Interschool laboratory of transcendental pedagogics that collaborates with large research centers, higher educational institutions and schools in Moscow and regions as well as with foreign scientists in the field of transcendental pedagogics (pedagogics of higher human values), revelation and accelerated talent development. The laboratory regularly holds creative workshops with participation of students and teachers of the University, where small masterpieces are created – oil paintings, poetic and musical sketches, etc.
