Date of birth: August 26, 1921.

Place of birth: the village of Narodich, Zhitomir region.

He was born in a farmer’s family. His father, Ivan Makarovich Golushko, took part in the Second World War and was killed at Ternopol. His mother’s name was Maria Lukinichna Golushko.

Before the WWII he graduated from the Kiev tank military school. In the beginning of the war he was a deputy tank unit commander for technical support of the 48th tank batallion, then a deputy commander for technical support of the 118th tank battalion. On January 12, 1943 during running the Leningrade blocade he was wounded. After the blocade he was an assistant of the head of repair and evacuation department of the amoured forces directorate of the Leningrad front in the rank of captain. He dealt with evacuation of damaged tanks from the field of battle and their repairs under the enemy fire. In June 1944 he was awarded the rank of major and appointed deputy commander of the operational tank group of the front. After the battle of Tallinn he was appointed deputy commander of the Leningrad training tank regiment.

In 1946 he was the head of a tank repair plant and in a year after the plant was disbanded he was sent to the Higher Officer School of Amoured Forces as a deputy head of the technical department and in 1948 he became a deputy commander of the tank regiment of the School. In 1948-1951 he was a student of the Military Academy of Rear Services and Transportation. Having graduated with honours, he took a position of deputy head of the rear services headquarters of Soviet forces in Germany. In 1953-1958 in the rank of a colonel he became the head of department of combat and operational training and then a deputy head of rear services headquarters of the Ministry of Defense of the USSR. Starting 1958 he was the head of headquarters and deputy the head of rear services of the Kiev military command. In 1965-1969 in the rank of a general he was a deputy head of the rear services headquarters of the USSR Military Forces and then in the rank of a lieutenant-general and colonel-general till his retirement in October 1989 he was the head of rear services headquarters being the first deputy head of rear services of the USSR Military Forces.

He holds a PhD in Military Science and a PhD in Economics. He is a professor. He is a member of the Russian Academy of Transport, full member of the International Academy of Informatisation. He is the head of department of rear services and transportation in the Academy of Military Science.

He is the author of more than 200 research papers. After his retirement in 1989, he successfully completed a series of important research works including research of innovative logistics support methods in the new economic conditions and their implementation in the use by the military forces. For the above mentioned and other work he was awarded a Diploma of the Higher School of the USSR, Frunze and Svechin Diplomas, a Diploma of the Suvorov Academy of Military Science, etc.

He is a laureate of the USSR State Award; he was decorated with orders of the October Revolution, the Red Banner, the Red Banner of Labour, two orders of the Great Patriotic War of Ist degree, two orders of the Great Patriotic War of IInd degree, four orders of the Red Star, an order “For Service to the Motherland in the USSR Military” of IId degree, an order of Friendship, medals “For military services”, “For the defense of Leningrad”, many others Soviet and foreign awards, including orders and medals of Cuba, Mongolia, Poland, Chekhoslovakia.

In the University he is a professor of the department of theory and history of economics of the Economics Faculty, a member of the academic council.
